Journeys – Why Work For Us?

ABOUT JOURNEYS

Journeys is a leader in the teen specialty retail scene, with more than 800 stores in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Journeys uses fashion savvy and merchandising science to keep in step with the fast-paced footwear and accessories market for 13 to 22-year-old guys and girls.

Journeys offers a wide variety of trendy, relevant brands that cater to teens that seek the hottest, new styles. However, the Journeys store is more than a retail environment -- it’s an extension of the teen lifestyle. From the TVs playing exclusive content and the latest music videos, to the visual merchandising strategy and promotions, to the employees whose image and style reflect the customers’ lifestyle and attitude. Journeys is, in every way, an attitude you can wear!

I worked at Journeys part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I learned quite a bit working at Journeys! From stocking a organizing shoes, to tagging, and growing my patience for customers.

    Cons

The pay is low and there isnt alot of room to get promotions

    Advice to Management

Pay the sales associates more. $7.25 may be the state required minimum, but there is no way that any human being could live off of that. you guys make plenty of money. don't be greedy.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Journeys (Orlando, FL).

    Interview

My interview was very easy to get since I walked in and got an interview date on the spot. On the day of the interview I arrived and was directed to the food court for my interview. It was a little noisy but okay. Currently I am still waiting for a answer about the position. I called them three times in the last two weeks about the position, each time being told a different answer about when I should be contacted. Last time I called the manger told me I should be hearing back "sometime within the next month". Unfortunately I don't have a month to wait.
