I have been working at KAR Auction Services full-time (More than a year)
Fast to adopt new technology
Fairly flexible to new ideas for a large company
Benefits aren't as good as most tech companies. These need to approve to attract top talent
There is a bit of a culture clash between old guard employees and a recent influx of new employees. The new employees are largely from Interactive Intelligence and are pushing for change more quickly than some legacy employees are comfortable with.
Advice to Management
Continue to support new ideas (and new employees). Even though its unsettling for some employees we have to accept change to continue to innovate to remain competitive.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at KAR Auction Services (Carmel, IN) in December 2015.
As an internal applicant I did not have any informal sessions prior to the formal interview, nor were there any pre-screening sessions with HR. The format was a multi-person interview kicked off with a 30 minute presentation to the Senior Leadership Panel, and 30-45 minute individual sessions with other SLT members. Standard questions with a focus on leadership, customer and relationship management, strategy, people development and coaching. Highly NON-technical, focus was on People and Process. There was very little focus on the specifics of the particular job, rather the focus was on performance as a member of the senior leadership team and as a coach and developer of people in general
