I worked at KBC Advanced Technologies full-time (Less than a year)
Very capable people; focused management team; clients very satisfied with their work.
Very much a downstream consultancy, but challenged to transform their business; not really organized to sell software - too small a player and spread too thin. Afraid that the sins of the past management too difficult to overcome in todays' market. Under pressure from equity owners to increase value of company - hence being sold.
Advice to Management
The company is being acquired now, but would have preferred the acquirer to be AspenTech or an EPC like Worley-Parsons, as they are better fit for the employees and in the case of AspenTech, the software side of the business. Hope they are allowed to operate relatively independently or they will likely lose many employees.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KBC Advanced Technologies (Houston, TX) in March 2016.
It was a pretty good intern event where we went over company's profile, their work and what roles are interns going to be taking up. Had 3 different interviews. Everyone was nice and were genuinely interested in our previous experiences. Went over our resumes and were asking about the roles we played in our college projects, extra co-curricular activities as well as what to expect from this internship. Overall it was a good experience
