I worked at KGO-TV as an intern (Less than a year)
The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The attire is very casual and you are made to feel comfortable whenever you are at the office. The work environment is very laid back, which is surprising considering how quickly and efficiently the staff has to respond to the incoming news stories.
There is no money in radio. The internship was unpaid, which was totally fine as it was a summer internship in college, but I don't think that it would be easy to support yourself in San Francisco on the salary that they provide their staff. There are also very frequent staff changes and employees are frequently let go-so no job stability.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at KGO-TV (San Francisco, CA).
It was good, fluid, and it could have been better, as I didn't get to meet the team or really see the premises. I interviewed with the Web director and the executive producer where I also had to take a test and come back for more interviewing.
