I worked at Kalsec full-time (More than 5 years)
Great benefits, great pay, and awesome coworkers. The company is great at being transparent and telling employees what is REALLY going on- good and bad. I think this really helps with motivation. All levels of management are extremely accessible and willing to take feedback from employees.
So SLOW to change or implement new ideas. There is a lot of "we've done it this way for 20+ years" in the culture.
Advice to Management
Work on implementation planning- a way to put new ideas in place quickly to allow the business to "roll with the punches". There may be a time when the business needs to adapt to survive.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kalsec (Grand Rapids, MI) in December 2016.
i applied online and received an almost immediate response to interview. i was then sent various links to complete a battery of tests. seeing how this was during the holidays i did contact the HR representative to extend my time as the last test was numerical reasoning. the extension was granted until the first week of the new year, and i completed the tests, which included an extensive personality assessment
when i called to inquire about my candidate status i was sent a rejection letter almost immediately. seeing how there was absolutely no human interaction with the exception of the interaction that i initiated and judging the uselessness of the "numerical reasoning" test (it involved no mathematics at all, just recognizing number patterns" i think this is a company culture best to be avoided.
