Earlier this month our East Asian Network gathered for their annual retreat. Over the two-day event, our colleagues attended #professionaldevelopment workshops and leadership panels and bonded through shared experiences such as dinners, hiking, and fun cultural activities. Through our #diversity networks, Kearney employees experience our firm values in action—curiosity, generosity, boldness, solidarity, and passion. Earlier this year, we celebrated #BlackHistoryMonth with the theme of “Empowerment: uplifting Black excellence to develop and flourish.” We kicked off February with The Culture Digest, a weekly cultural column, and a Black culture trivia night. We also had the pleasure of attending a speaker series with distinguished guests such as Judith Batty, a BHM Book Club discussing The Light We Carry, a celebration of music, and office museum visits. Thank you to everyone in our Black@Kearney network and all our attendees for a joyous month!

Given the market slowdown in the US this year, how are different firms coping with (1) layoffs and (2) end of year bonuses? From my vague understanding at Kearney, seems like minimizing layoffs, yet mentioning that bonuses will be affected. 1 caveat: people who managed to be top quartile utilization during the year would still be well-compensated on bonus. Unclear if “well-compensated” = maintain last year or still less for those people too, just less “damage” to their bonus vs the rest.
