Like many family-owned businesses, Kenseal started small with the vision of two entrepreneurs. Our founders Ken Lippmann and Pete McKinnell laid the foundation for Kenseal in New York in 1977. As demand for our products and services grew, they expanded to Connecticut, Baltimore and beyond. Since then, we’ve established roots throughout the East Coast and built a solid reputation based on experience, integrity and innovation. We’ve stayed true to our family-owned roots and are now in our second generation of leadership. It’s been our privilege to watch the communities we serve grow over the past four decades.

Kenseal takes pride in offering a competitive compensation and benefits package to our employees. We routinely review our benefits to ensure we are competitive in the marketplace.
Health & Prescription Drug Coverage: We offer group medical and prescription drug coverage through the Cigna Open Access Plus network. We also offer medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts (FSAs). Group dental benefits are provided by DentaQuest and vision benefits are provided by VSP.
Life & Disability Benefits: The company pays for all employees to have a basic life insurance policy and long-term disability coverage through Cigna. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance and short-term disability benefits. We also offer supplemental benefits through Aflac.
Retirement: Kenseal offers both a traditional 401(k) plan and a ROTH 401(k) plan with a generous company match equal to 100% of the first three percent you contribute and an additional 50% on the fourth and fifth percent. Our plan is designated a "safe harbor" plan, which means you are fully vested in the company match, once eligible.
Paid Time Off: Kenseal employees enjoy fifteen days of PTO per year, during the first five years of employment. After five years of employment, employees earn twenty PTO days per year. We also offer seven paid holidays each year.
Professional Development Program: We are committed to investing in our employees to help them reach their full potential and achieve their goals. Our Professional Development Program consists of a college-degree reimbursement program, certification reimbursement program, and continuing education program. In certain circumstances, continuing education program expenses may be paid by Kenseal up-front.
Community Outreach Program: Supporting those who support our community! We offer programs that encourage employees and their spouses to get involved in their communities. These programs include a 501(c)3 charitable contribution match, a donation grant for volunteers who sit on the Board of a 501(c)3 organization, and incentives for Kenseal locations to volunteer time as a group.
Our commitment to service doesn’t stop with our customers. Kenseal encourages employees at every level of our organization to support the causes that matter to them and their families. We set the stage for charitable employee giving with our Matching Gift Programs — our way of showing employees that we are as invested as they are. Kenseal also offers unique paid time off incentives for team volunteer efforts.

Kenseal's history of continuous improvement, coupled with an outgoing staff of driven, innovative, and fun co-workers, has made my 24 years here challenging and enjoyable. We work hard, but we have fun doing it.
Kenseal's work environment supports new ideas and creativity, from all employees. When you are able to see the positive results of the work that's been done, and how that benefits the organization as well as yourself, there's pride of ownership in a job well done. I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Kenseal Construction Products (Norfolk, VA) in October 2016.
Email received through my LinkedIn account. Asking to contact recruiter. Thirty minute telephone interview, followed by a face to face interview at facility a few days later. Questions and answers by both parties, followed by aptitude test. Tour of facility and review of day to day operations. Follow up interview by phone from HR department and offer extended.
