    Kinepolis is strong brand and people work in an attractive sector. Free movietickets is one of the few interesting perks.


    It is hard to get things done. Red tape slows down initiatives, a many-level budgetcontrol puts many people off initiatives and innovation. There is a lot of window-dressing when it comes to Employee-management. A lot of fancy named initiatives to help improve skill and career, but in practice many are slowly killed or remain empty boxes.

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Kinepolis Group (Ghent (Belgium)) in October 2018.


    A recruitment agency informed me about a temporary position of 2 months at Kinepolis Group because of extra workload during the holiday season. Out of all the applicants, two candidates were invited for an interview. I already knew there would have been only one interview so when asked if I had any other questions I asked about salary. The interviewer, however, could not provide me with an answer. That same day I received a phone call from the recruitment agency that comunicated to me Kinepolis Group was very positive about my interview but given that both candidates were very strong they wanted a reference. I gave my reference and waited 2 days before I called in again to ask if there were any updates. Then I learned that I was not chosen for the position and that their decision was based merely on a feeling they had. I asked for a concrete reason thus rational instead of emotional feedback but, again, I was not provided with an answer.

    Conclusion: I spent time and energy in my application and was not even left with interesting feedback that I could learn from for future applications. As a recent graduate this is even more frustrating.
