Over the past decade Kleinfelder employees have held leadership positions at the board level of EWB.

Kleinfelder continuously seeks to improve our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. We consider water consumption, energy use, carbon emissions, and waste generation to identify potential reduction measures throughout our offices and business practices and provide a better work environment for our own staff.

Want to make a difference with us?  Join our team!

At Kleinfelder we work hard and are passionate about the work we do; however, we understand the importance of life/work balance. We help our employees prioritize a healthy life/work balance by offering flexible work schedules, options to work remotely, generous paid time off policies (which we encourage employees to use), office/family events and activities, transfer and relocation opportunities, and benefits related to child/adult care services.

We have found that when our employees can achieve a life/work balance, they are more productive, have better attitudes at work, are more engaged with their teammates, and are more inclined to work safer – an important aspect of our industry!

Our offices get creative with their team building activities, participating in a variety of activities ranging from kayaking, baseball games, and escape rooms to axe throwing (which of course started with a thorough safety plan and debrief!).

Some offices even participate in recreational sports leagues, giving staff a chance to team build while exercising.

If you’re looking for a company that will allow you to thrive both professionally and personally, then you’ve found it. Join our team today.

I have been working at Kleinfelder full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Positive shift in culture in the last couple of years, lots of new faces and new ideas. Management listens to your ideas and lets you run with them. Supportive upper management and great opportunities to learn from local subject matter experts. Many new projects in the pipeline over the next couple of years. Good safety culture that is genuinely concerned about the well being of the employees.

    Cons

Office looks ragtag, which is common in this industry, but we are preparing to move to a new office in the spring which will improve things.

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire and invest in employees so we aren't spread too thin.

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Kleinfelder.

    Interview

Prototypical process. Introductory phone call, in person interview , and then a less formal second in person interview. They’re tough interviews. They’re big thing was stressing productivity and safety. They expect you to know they’re safety system even though it is proprietary to them. You can tell they’re owned by a private equity firm. The hourly pay system is unusual. Declined the offer due to low pay compared to market.
