Mission: We are united by one powerful idea: every child deserves to reach his or her full potential. It’s a promise that starts at birth, with a passion for early learning that must be cultivated. In that crucial window is an opportunity to make a measurable lifelong difference. We ...
At Knowledge Universe, we believe that early childhood education creates brighter futures. We employ nearly 30,000 team members who are passionate about creating a world of learning, joy, and adventure for over 169,000 children every day.
“To me, the mission is very clear: it is about children. We have an opportunity, starting with children in their most formative years, to really change their lives forever.”—Tom Wyatt, CEO Knowledge Universe
We are the largest provider of early childhood education in the nation and we take that responsibility seriously. We know that with our national scope, we can positively impact the lives of so many more kids. Our family of brands includes KinderCare® Learning Centers, CCLC®, Champions® Before- and After-School Programs, Cambridge Schools®, Knowledge Beginnings® and the Grove Schools™.
Every year, we honor our very best teachers and recognize their amazing work with a $10,000 check (watch the video, the surprise is priceless.)
Knowledge Universe is the only early childhood education company to recognize talented early childhood education teachers with such a significant reward. From wiping noses to kissing scraped knees; from introducing the alphabet to exploring states of matter, from modeling good sharing to being a great listener, teachers are the core of our business.
We are committed to finding more ways to honor teaching and elevate the profession as a whole. We offer education benefits for teachers and staff who want to further their training and regular opportunities for professional development.
We value employees—at all levels and locations—who build great relationships with families, respond to the unique needs and interests of every child, and work together as a team.
Our Custom Curriculum is Key
We’ve invested over four years re-imagining, re-writing and refreshing curriculum for all of our classrooms. From infants to school-agers, children learn and grow with lessons that address six learning domains. Our unique curriculum—in the hands of talented teachers—gives children the strongest start imaginable.
Our Children Are Better Prepared
The results are clear: a 2011 Maryland school-readiness study revealed that more KinderCare children were better prepared for kindergarten than those who did not attend our centers. In our centers, 95% of children were prepared in mathematical thinking, compared with just 77% of children who did not attend our programs.
Leading the Nation in Accreditation
We are the industry leader in national accreditation, with 1,078 centers accredited and counting— our goal is accrediation for centers accredited. We’ve made a commitment to accreditation because it’s the gold standard for early childhood education. Simply put, it’s the right thing to do for children. What does accreditation mean for our families and children? Find out more.
Raising the Standard
Knowledge Universe has issued a challenge to educators and policy-makers: let’s do better for our nation’s children. Let’s make early education a priority by investing the time, resources and talent it deserves. And let’s start by empowering children and educators with a research-based curriculum that honors imagination and creativity.

The mission of the company and the curriculum foundation are stellar. Nothing better than the ability to serve children in their formative years.
Retail orientation has taken away from the ability to serve children, staff and families in the way I would like.
Advice to Management
This isn't the same as retail - pay attention to both ECE and Retail
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Knowledge Universe (Fort Worth, TX).
The person I interviewed with was awesome. she and I got along, and the same like mind goals for our work ethic. however she was unable to stay long after she hired me because the hours and commitment took from her family time.
