The Paradox of Innovating in Retention: The Unsexy Can Make You Sexy - Kobie Marketing | The Muse: A Loyalty Experience

The key innovations in customer retention today are not necessarily bleeding-edge new strategies or technologies, but enhancements and well-imagined reinterpretations of classic marketing techniques: subscription, curation and re-ordering. Subscription is both the latest trend and something that dates back to the Book-of-the Month Club, which has passed its 90th birthday.

Domino's Mobile Gaming App Increases Brand Exposure Between Sales

Forget special badges or gold-level status-for those who complete all six levels of its new mobile game, Domino's is giving out free pizza. Unveiled earlier this month, the pizza chain's "Piece of the Pie Pursuit" mobile game allows players who successfully navigate their way through a Rube Goldberg machine and earn 60 loyalty points to cash out on a free medium, two-topping pizza.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kobie Marketing (Saint Petersburg, FL) in September 2015.

    Interview

Phone interview for about a half hour. I was asked about J2EE experience with web services and web service clients. Some general SQL questions. Very cordial and laid back. Called in for an in-person interview that was pleasant. I met with two team leads who clearly knew their stuff; they were interested in my SQL and Java knowledge. There were some general questions and then some questions to test my experience.

    Interview Questions

    • What is the difference between an inner join and an outer join?

A binary tree was drawn on a whiteboard, and a Node class was written next to it. I was asked to write pseudocode to traverse the tree.   1 Answer
