Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

  1. Technical Recruiter Interview

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kustomer (New York, NY)

The overall interview process lasted a whole month.

    1) Phone screen with Recruiter
    2) Zoom call with VP of People
    *take home assignment*
    3) Another zoom call with VP of Talent
    4) Final zoom with two members of Talent

Didn’t get an offer and was told it was because they didn’t have the time nor budget to train me… not sure why they couldn’t have ruled me out during the initial screening instead of wasting my time. I found this to be the worst company interview process I’ve gone through. I don’t think people here realize the amount of time that goes into interviewing/ prepping and having to make time during our day to fit their schedule.

    Word of advice:
I get you’re trying to find the right people for the company, but try to condense the interview process… and maybe don’t give me false hope or waste their time.

Why am I looking to leave my current company
