I worked at LIFT Agency full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lift is one of the best creative shops in town and my favorite to work for! I worked contract and full time with them for over 6+ years.

First, this gem of an agency has an amazing client roster! Really diverse, so whether you're in creative or account, you are always building great work for your portfolio here. While I was here, I had the opportunity to work on health & beauty clients, entertainment, tech, and consumer retail. I came away with great work I'm really proud to share.

This is in no small part due to the amazing talent the founder and CEO has assembled. Good, hardworking people who you can trust to bring out the best in everyone. And they are fun! I made lifelong friendships here, too.

This agency does a great job of maximizing results for clients (which explains why so many stay for so long) and putting out a great creative product. I would work here again in a heartbeat.

    Cons

None really. Agency life isn't for everyone, because agencies tend to be held to a higher standard than in-house talent, you really have to develop confidence in your own work and be very diplomatic accepting client feedback. Honestly, all this is very good practice for young professionals starting out, so I recommend giving it a try!

    Advice to Management

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LIFT Agency (San Francisco, CA) in August 2017.

    Interview

I applied online and was invited to meet with the VP of Creative and UX for a video interview before being invited in for the next step of the interview process.

During my 2nd and 3rd round of interviews, I met on 1:1 interviews with the VP, Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Designers whom I would be working with. I was given a brief insight on who they are as a company and client work before presenting some of my work from my online portfolio (Note: I brought my laptop with me). I had 30 minutes to talk to each individual, so each round lasted about 1.5 hours.

I received an offer a few days after my 3rd round in a video conference call with the VP. I accepted the offer.

The whole interview process was efficient and transparent plus all my interviewers were friendly, open, and engaging.

I really enjoyed not only the conversations I had with my interviewers but also the consistent message conveyed of Lift Agency's positive, thriving, collaborative work culture.
