I have been working at LJA Engineering full-time (More than 3 years)
LJA really cares about quality work and bringing in work. If you want to get into Land Development, LJA is definitely a great option for you.
They generally expect you to work more than 40 hours a week regardless if you are in a position that pays you for overtime or not. It varies by group, but I know people who have left because they want a better work life balance and other companies can provide that.
Additionally, some managers feel it is necessary to bring in work even if it isn't going to be profitable just because it is available. More carefully choosing which projects are worked on would reduce stress levels and reduce the number of overtime hours expected.
Advice to Management
Growth is good, but work for the sake of being busy isn't. LJA would be better served by making workloads better than a few more thousand dollars in profits. That money comes with a cost.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at LJA Engineering.
The process was very relaxed and comforting. Didn't feel like a review compared to other ones I went to. The best Interview I have ever been through. They didn't treat me like just another person. They really wanted to get to know me and see if I will fit it. They later showed me around the office.
