I have been working at LSS Data Systems full-time (More than 3 years)
LSS (now MEDITECH) is very selective when it comes to hiring. Therefore, you end up with a great group of co-workers who are very smart and hard working. The only other thing that MEDITECH has going for it is benefits. You will be hard pressed to find better benefits in today's economy.
While MEDITECH has a lot of potential, I don't see the company advancing itself much in the field because of 2 major issues.
1) Low pay, which in turn causes
2) High turn over rates.
MEDITECH markets it's self as a value EHR, which in some respect is awesome. I like the idea that I am working for a company that is not contributing to the rising healthcare costs. On the other hand, because MEDITECH is a value EHR company, employee's are paid a "Value" salary.
Advice to Management
Honestly, I hope this gets more attention because it is on a public website, but I think it won't make a difference.
Pay your employee's more, and you will not lose as many great, talented individuals to other companies. While many of us enjoy the bonus each January, it would be nice our bonus was just added to our salary and paid out over the whole year. That would make the average salary at least semi-competitive.
Other than pay, I feel like MEDITECH does a great job with managing it's employees. Everyone is well trained, and the corporate atmosphere is pretty good. I haven't come across very many "Bad Eggs" during my years with the company. So keep up the good work in those areas!
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at LSS Data Systems.
Had to take a programming test. Also interviewed with the main recruiting staff member, along with several supervisors and managers. Received feedback from my references that they were called within a day of my interview and I was offered a job the next day.
I did not negotiate for the job or salary, just accepted right away
