    Pros

    > Friendly culture - very flat hierarchy for a company that has a relatively traditional structure
    > Outstanding health, retirement, wellness benefits
    > Large enough to be stable, provide plenty of expertise/training to learn from, and offer continuous & diverse projects to work on
    > Small enough for individuals to have a big influence on where the company goes if they so choose
    > Family feel - people (including management) genuinely care about and invest in employees and each other
    > Rare entry-level positions with great growth opportunities for aspiring computer professionals
    > Magically combines the cultural feel of a modern startup with the coherence and accountability of a large corporation (LabAnswer clients are mostly big pharma organizations)

LabAnswer cares about its people. From a human/cultural perspective, from the top to bottom, people are fun, genuine, generous, and look out for one another because it's the right thing to do. From a business perspective, LabAnswer management recognizes that LabAnswer consultants are literally their company product, and so they provide training, encourage mentorship, and will even fall on a sword with a client to protect them.

LabAnswer is working hard to cultivate a big younger generation of consultants and technical experts in the industry. The work is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates to get started in the "real world," complete with tons of training opportunity, different flavors of projects, and management support and investment. For entry level positions, early promotions and raises come quickly and often if you take the time to learn.

If you are explicitly interested in doing work in the pharmaceutical/laboratory software space, this is a fantastic company to work with to gain a plethora of experiences.

If you are just getting started in a career in software development/support/project management and are looking for an opportunity to get off the ground, this is a fantastic opportunity. It sure launched my career.

    Cons

    > Consultants on support projects experience high burn-out rates due to long and/or unpredictable hours of support
    > Early promotions and raises are clear and frequent; higher advancement becomes difficult due to fewer positions available (high retention/stability in upper management)
    > Pay is based on Floridian standard of living with no income tax: may be lower than some software companies with similar work offer.

Consultants who work on support project teams are living that support life: unpredictable, long-houred, potentially tedious, and a bit enslaved by the clock. While the best technical consultants gained their expertise working support, many resent the long hours needed to fulfill the obligations to the client while only being paid a fixed salary. I was never on a support team, so I never experienced this personally, but many of my friends did and they had a hard time with this.

    Advice to Management

Keep fostering mentorship opportunities; cycle EAS staff to avoid burnout; do as much as you can to help on-site consultants feel included

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LabAnswer (Orlando, FL) in February 2017.

    Interview

they first sent me an assessment test to take online via codify. Then few days later, a skype interview was taken which lasted for approximately 30 minutes- he asked basic behavioral questions. Once you pass that, they call you in for an on site interview which they pay for your flight, rental car, and hotel (decently nice). on site interview was about 3 hours long- first talked with the recruiter, then took another assessment test, which they give you an hour to do, then an interview with two interviewers, and then a final interview with the manager. I thought I did well overall, but did not get an offer. Also did fairly decent on the assessment test. I sent them an email for their feedback why i didn't get the offer, but they never responded.
