I have been working at Lake Erie College full-time

    Pros

A great place to build relationships and work with people. Laid back work environment. Solid benefits with a matching 401K. Helping students set themselves up for careers is rewarding

    Cons

No vision by top administrators. Pay scale is very low compared to industry averages. Very few growth opportunities. No major construction or additions to physical buildings in quite some time. Tuition keeps rising. HIGH turnover due to low pay and few advancement opps. Administration caters to people because they are afraid to lose more students. For a coach, results don't matter, only recruitment numbers.

    Advice to Management

INVEST in the people who want to be there and keep them around. Your key individuals make the school what it is.

    Adjunct Professor Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Lake Erie College (Painesville, OH) in August 2012.

    Interview

Casual interview no suit or tie needed. Short interview only took about fifteen minutes. Not technical, just reviewed my resume, but that's about how all the Adjunct interviews go that I've attended. Sat in a room and chatted. Not much you can really say about it.
