I worked at Lake Partners full-time (More than 3 years)
Lake provides a unique opportunity to learn & grow as an analyst/project manager. They have the right structure for training & demonstrate incredible skill at providing individually-tailored management & feedback. You will work with a talented group that you will want to spend time with outside of work--this is a small firm, but you will build long-lasting, valuable relationships (professionally as well as personally). You will be driven to do your best work, & you will be well-compensated for performing.
The work can be challenging--you will do best if you are independently motivated & thrive off of the energy that comes from surmounting those challenges. Many people come to work at Lake with no prior work experience & some struggle to navigate a faster-paced environment. You will do best if you like to learn quickly, respond well to feedback, & have strong self-awareness.
Advice to Management
Keep striving to be the best at what you do & what you offer your employees--your investment has paid off in your workforce. However, don't be surprised when you vary from your hiring methodology & it doesn't go smoothly--don't compromise.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lake Partners (Boston, MA) in January 2016.
The interview process was pretty standard for the first round. They were recruiting in my city and I was interviewed by the HR and another employee. Half the time is going over credentials and items on my resume while the other half were very simple case studies due to the time constraint. They were nice and helped you along when needed.
They got back to me in a week whether I made it to the next round. I knew I didn't make it so the news wasn't a surprise as I knew I blundered a bit, but it was still a good experience overall.
