    Assistant Community Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Orlando, FL

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Landmark Apartment Trust (Orlando, FL) in September 2013.

I was hired one month before HR used an online recruiting portal that is now currently in place. I was referred by an existing employee and the position was a step back financially for me. I was given two interviews by local managers with field level responsibility, and then one interview with a regional manager that was one of the most ridiculous wastes of my professional time that I have ever had. Needless to say this person is no longer in that position.

    Interview Questions

    • None, this was quite a joke of an interview in all aspects. The regional manager was so pre-involved with herself at the time that it was apparent that if I had a degree, a pulse and clean urine, the job was mine. All in all I left in quite humor as I realized that I could definitely teach this superior a few things about her business skills....or lack thereof.   1 Answer

Minimal negotiation, it was entry level management, so not much room at this level. The next job function above does have some negotiation room, but very little, and it is the standard low-ball corporate game. I did have a chance to interview for a mid-level corporate position and it went well. Then 3 weeks later after not hearing back from HR, I walk into work, on a Monday to find that the company laid off over a million in salaries in one day in order to create room for their growth expansion.
