I have been working at Larkin full-time (More than a year)
Continues to think like the small company it began as, very supportive management, once you are up and running the schedule is fairly flexible, workloads are kept manageable, they truly deliver on the promises made to clients which makes for much happier day in and day out interactions with clients and employees, they selectively hire - I have not encountered a single co-worker I have found to be lazy or inter-personally difficult, there is room for growth and management genuinely pays attention to your strengths and looks for opportunities to help you grow them, benefits are generous, no micro-management or toxicity, and good work does not go unnoticed from line level employees to the top managers. Neighbors a CrossFit gym if you're into that. They are active in community service and invested in employee wellness. Great EAP plan.
Genuinely do not have one.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Larkin (Roseville, CA) in July 2019.
You are scheduled for a panel interview after the phone interview. The panel consists of managers and supervisors at the location. The questions are specific to the applicant's resume.
I am rating the experience as negative because, while the interview was not challenging, the vibe of the office and management seems somewhat unprofessional. The receptionist was more invested in browsing the internet than welcoming visitors. The office does not appear to have a dress code, which might be relaxing for ordinary work days, but it does seem unorthodox for managers to not at least present as business casual for formal interviews.
Overall, the vibe is like a San Francisco start-up, which is not inherently bad. If you happen to be an older applicant, are uninterested with blurring the lines between coworkers and friends, or are seeking a more professional HR environment, then I would not recommend this office. If you are looking for a relaxed transition from college to your first job, then you might prefer this culture.
The Larkin Company is excited to announce our Roseville office expansion! In February 2018 we moved to a 10,000 square foot office space to accommodate our continuously growing headcount. We are now close to 70 employees strong across our Roseville and Santa Clara locations! We are thrilled about the growth of our business over the years and appreciate all of our incredible clients.
