Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Advice to Management
InterviewThe phone recruiter was sweet. The next lady I spoke to was truly a character. She seemed really nice initially then as I got into explaining my resume and why I believe I’m fit she began making faces at me. Asking me if I knew what specific words meant and would use synonyms as if I didn’t know what the initial word meant. Truly a horrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend anyone applying here. They still haven’t reached back out to let me know I didn’t get the job but by her actions and closing remarks before ending the live interview I got that quite clearly I wouldn’t be going further with this company.
