Very supportive district that encourages continuous improvement.

It's a big district and hard to get to know a lot of people unless you are a "go getter".

I applied online. I interviewed at Leander ISD (Leander, TX) in August 2016.

Interviewed for the assistant principal and the teacher whose class needs the assistant.
Knowledge and experience is a plus and how would you control a difficult situation.
Presentation counts to your interview and the patience you show as well. Its one day process and you hear from them in less than a week.

The best place in Texas to raise a family? It's not Austin, but three local cities make Top 10

Mortgage company looked at 87 cities in Texas with a population of 25,000 people or larger and ranked them for best place to raise a family. It looked at poverty rate, monthly housing cost, medium income, housing appreciation rates, graduation rates, students taking the Advance Placement exams and percentage that got a 3 or above on those tests, percent of the population younger than 20, unemployment rate and crime rates.
