Recognizing our similarities. Respecting our differences.

Lear's leading role as a global innovator in automotive seating and electrical distribution systems encompasses more than products and processes - we know that people drive our success and have proven to be our most important asset at every Lear location.

Simply put, we value diversity and inclusion, also extending to same sex benefits, because it makes us a better Company and better individuals coming together to form an even stronger team. When each of us contributes our abilities and varied viewpoints, all of us benefit in growing together and better understanding our complex world. Diversity in the workforce entails valuing dimensions of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, cultural, national origin, skills, age, education, military service and general life experiences.

One of our core values is being an Employer of Choice. Consistent with this, we seek to recruit, hire and retain the best from every background and community around the world. The group defines the term “young professional” not necessarily by age but rather by mindset. Young professionals are those individuals who have the desire to innovate and invest in their work experience. Members of the group are asked to participate in one of the four foundational pillars (Develop; Network; Outreach; and Attract) based on interest and/or skill set. Talented individuals from every functional area are eager to develop skills, network within the industry and support the communities in which Lear does business.

Diversity & Supporting the Communities in Which We Do Business

Lear continues to support a wide range of charitable and service organizations in the communities around the world where we do business. Our long tradition of civic involvement and support provides a standard for the future as we highlight Community Support as one of our core values.

Our employees volunteer time, financial support and provide gifts of goods and services to a wide range of community causes and service organizations. From senior leadership to our newest team member, we all contribute to Lear's core value of supporting the communities in which we live and work.

I have been working at Lear Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people, culture, and work-life balance really stick out at Lear. Managers/Supervisors are more helpful than at any other company I've worked for. The culture is relaxed, but everyone in the company wants to work hard and achieve success for themselves and the people around them. The recruiters are upbeat and really give you a good sense of what the company will be like if you work here, unlike some companies I have worked with in the past.

    Cons

Not many things to write about here. Lear will make you work hard; only motivated people will have success here. That is what makes it such a great environment to work in.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lear Corporation (Southfield, MI) in May 2017.

    Interview

A relaxed conventional interview process with a Manager and perspective supervisor. We went over common tasks in the position and discussed my experience. Thankfully not a behavioral S.T.A.R.S. type of process
