AEON™ Endostapler: defined by engineering excellence, smart manufacturing and continuous innovation
As our company specializes in surgical stapling, we are focused solely on making the best Endostapler out there. The AEON™ Endostapler incorporates many proprietary features and is proven with excellent clinical performance in a wide range of clinical applications. In addition, the AEON offers surgeons exceptional staple formation resulting in optimal patient outcomes. We have achieved this by continuous product enhancements fueled by customer feedback.
By using proprietary computer vision, design innovations and advanced engineering, our engineering team has designed innovative surgical stapling devices on the market with enhanced clinical and functional capabilities designed to deliver outstanding surgical performance. In addition, consistently maintaining the highest quality is a focus for the company. That is why we have built a cutting-edge advanced manufacturing facility based in Massachusetts, USA that is largely automated. We have also developed proprietary robotic technology and artificial intelligence systems for manufacturing and quality control.
The company’s AEON products received FDA clearance in 2017 and now are being used by hundreds of doctors in more than 15 countries. We have also partnered with world-renowned healthcare institutions, including Cleveland Clinic and Yale, to conduct and publish several studies proving the safety and efficacy of the AEON™ products. And today our products and customer-focused approach continue to receive positive feedback from surgeons and healthcare facilities worldwide.
Building relationships with leading surgeons and their staff since we introduced our AEON products into the market has been a fascinating journey. Though Lexington is a newer company, a variety of facilities have benefited from the AEON - large academic centers, community hospitals and smaller surgery centers.
Below is feedback from some of our surgeon customers.
Michel Gagner, MD, FRSC, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Gagner is the Chief of Surgery at Westmount Square Surgery Center in Montreal, Canada. He is also Professor of Surgery at Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine, IFU and a Senior Consultant at Hopital du Sacre Coeur.
"In over 250 bariatric cases, we have seen excellent staple formation with the AEON Endostapler. The unique dual firing gear allows for slow, controlled firing resulting in the best hemostasis I’ve seen and a low risk for post-operative complications for our patients.
Furthermore, I think the future is bright for Lexington Medical and it makes a lot of sense for surgeons to partner with them as they deliver top service, consistently respond to surgeon feedback, and offer high quality products at a competitive price."
Christopher Hart, MD, FACS
Dr. Hart is the Medical Director at Atlanta General & Bariatric Surgery Center in Atlanta, GA. He is also the Bariatric Medical Director at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
"Prior to using AEON, we performed testing on excised stomach specimens to evaluate both staple formation and risk of leaks. The AEON consistently outperformed the other staplers and we quickly became very comfortable with the product. Our patient results have been fantastic in over 300 bariatric cases. With the various staple heights made for variable tissue thickness, we have found our staple formation has been consistent even when crossing staple lines.
In addition, it is refreshing to have a new option in surgical stapling from a company stirring things up by driving more value and innovation in the market. I’ve never experienced such responsiveness from a company or openness to feedback."
I have been working at Lexington Medical full-time (Less than a year)
I could not be happier with my decision to work for Lexington Medical as my first job coming out of college. Being a small, fast-paced company, I have had the opportunity to be exposed to so many different sectors of the business. From supporting surgeons in the operating room and crafting clinical study protocols to completing verification & validation testing and managing design controls, I have learned more than I ever could have expected.
Compared to larger medical device companies, there is far less structure. While I struggled with this at first, working with less structure has caused me to step outside of my comfort zone, take on more responsibility, and ultimately grow as an engineer. However, this environment certainly isn't for everyone as it requires you to be extremely organized and a fast learner.
