I worked at Lg Electronics Alabama full-time (More than 10 years)
Excellent Benefits! Great Salary! Paid Holidays, PTO more than ample! Fantastic Co-Workers, very Talented!
Stress Level is at the top of the meter. Work load placed upon Employees by Management is beyond Unrealistic due to Budget and Payroll Cuts, as well as ongoing Hiring Freezes. Long-Term Employees once considered as an Asset to the Company eventually become a Liability due to Salary Increases, extended PTO Days accumulated, etc. Loyal, Long-Term Employees are routinely replaced by Contract Workers, eliminating any expenses related to the cost of Employee Benefits, Holiday Pay, PTO, etc. Management is Reactive, not Proactive, adopting a somewhat "Knee-Jerk" Mind Set in regards to the normal Work Flow Process. Right Hand has no idea what the Left Hand is doing to put it in simple terms. Korean Management is Driven by "Numbers", more focused on "Bean Counting" when the focuse should be on true Customer Service to ensure all of the Loyal LG Customers are rewarded with the Sterling Customer Service Experience they deserve.
Advice to Management
Management would benefit greatly by simply stepping back a bit and truly look at how Management currently views and treats their Employees. Never ending Stress and Pressure to Produce and Perform does nothing but instill Fear and Distrust in the Employees. Management has no clue as to why the Employee Morale is Depressingly Low and getting worse by the day. Management needs to embrace the understanding that Employees cannot be expected to "Give their All" when each and every day that Employee has to force themselves to go to work wondering if this is going to be the day they are going to be Fired. This very thought is on the minds of countless current LG. Employees. Management can start by simply acknowledging the Employees, a Smile and a few Kind and Encouraging Words would make a World of Difference! Include the Employees and make them feel like they are a part of things. Schedule periodic meetings to keep the Employees informed as to their Progress, recognizing their Accomplishments and let it be known that the Employees are the Backbone of LG and the Success of the Company comes from a large part due to the Talent, Skills and Loyalty of their Employees. If only Management will take the time to see that the current Management Protocol is not and has not been working and look past the end of their nose to see that implementing the simple suggestions noted cost LG Nothing. However, the return LG will see will be Priceless!
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lg Electronics Alabama (Huntsville, AL).
Applied online for the position. I was contacted about 10 days later from HR by telephone. Next we scheduled a phone interview. There were some follow-up questions which were sent by email afterwards. After the hiring manager review my answers I was contacted again to schedule an in-person interview. At the scheduled time I met my HR contact. I spent about 10 minutes with the HR person answering some questions and then we were both joined by the hiring manager 4 about another half hour worth of questions and discussion. The hiring manager then suggested that we meet one more time and asked me to prepare answers to some specific questions related to the work. Overall I feel good about the experience and I'm hopeful that it will result in an offer. Everyone seemed very friendly and professional.
It's been quite some time since I've pursued interviewing for a new position and I felt comfortable with the people I met and this seems like it would be a challenging and interesting opportunity. Wish me luck!
