Life Care Centers of America – Why Work For Us?

As a privately owned company, Life Care distinguishes itself with more than 48 years of experience, stability, and success.

Our modern, well-maintained buildings offer strong multidisciplinary teams, specialty programs, and opportunities for continuing education.

In 1970, Forrest L. Preston, chairman and CEO, opened the first facility, and today, Life Care operates more than 210 skilled nursing facilities in 28 states and employs more than 38,000 associates. Rooted in a Judeo-Christian ethic, two foundational principles were at play, then and now:

1. Patients and residents are our highest priority and deserve superior quality care and customer service.

2. Our associates are our most valuable resource in serving those entrusted to us.

The goal of each facility is to be a full partner in the continuum of health-care services in the community in which it operates. Our facilities specialize in skilled nursingpost-acute care, and inpatient and outpatient therapy in well-equipped, onsite rehabilitation gyms. Many of our centers provide Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Our associates are key to Life Care's growth and commitment to providing quality patient care. We recognize that positive patient and facility outcomes only happen with dedicated, engaged associates who are driven by excellence.

Life Care provides opportunities through education and advancement to help associates reach their maximum potential for personal and career growth. We recognize and reward associates for their contributions, in addition to providing competitive pay and benefits. Life Care encourages associates to express their ideas and make suggestions as part of our interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.

Through our belief in the decentralized concept of organizational structure and the participative style of management, leaders are empowered to make decisions and customize services that can positively impact patient care and facility success.

Each center is encouraged to be a good corporate citizen by participating in community affairs, such as chambers of commerce, United Way, or other civic organizations. Life Care is a designated National Team with the Alzheimer’s Association, each year raising more than $100,000 nationwide for the fight against this dreaded disease.

I applied online. I interviewed at Life Care Centers of America (Longmont, CO) in June 2014.

    Interview

It was a basic interview. They asked questions about my qualifications and experience. They also asked questions about patient treatment in certain situations. There was a tour of building followed by a discussion of pay/benefits expectation. I was hired on site.
