I’m part of a group that works to improve processes for our customers, including replacing hazardous chemicals with more environmentally friendly alternatives. Among many other advancements, we’re finding ways to limit the use of chemical reagents and dangerous solvents, leading to the elimination of hundreds of tons of hazardous waste each year. What I do helps us anticipate the future—by going back as far as we can go. What I do at Thermo Fisher Scientific sometimes makes an impact on the biggest news stories in the world. I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Life Technologies (Carlsbad, CA) in June 2016.
Interviewed with 3-4 people initially over the phone and then went in for an in person interview with an additional 5-6 people. They hyped the opportunity and then went completely dark after the final interviews. This is not how a recruiting process should go. Very bad impression and follow-up. Pathetic really.
