I worked at Links Technology full-time (More than 3 years)
I joined the team fresh out of college as an intern having little to no experience with my main focus on web design and development. Through Links, I was able to grow and learn the necessary skillsets to be hired as a full time web developer. The skillsets I acquired through Links are the sole reason I was able to land my current job as a Design Technologist. Without them I don't know where I would be!
Links Technology treats and respects each and every one of their employees like family.
The employees I worked with were fun and beyond amazing as they were always willing to help when needed. Each one is very knowledgeable in their respective fields.
The only con I can think of was the commute from Chicago to Schaumburg, however I can only blame myself for choosing to live in Chicago. Management was more than accommodating and flexible, letting me adjust my work hours to beat traffic as well as letting me work from home on Fridays. Cannot thank them enough for this as it did make a big difference!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Links Technology in November 2012.
The process was very informal. I met with the Manager and had a little interview and then met with the owner. The owner invited me to a convention they had a both at. After this I was invited to have lunch with the owner and talked about the position. The job was offered to me at the restaurant.
Since I needed the job, there was just the offer and then an acceptance. There was a pay increase that would commence at three and six months. The finale increase would be at my one year anniversary. During all three time frames I had to ask multiple times to meet and discuss my increases. I felt like I was being blown off. I did get the three month and six month increase, but the year increase was not what was expected.
