I worked at Locus Technologies full-time (More than a year)
The company has some very competent developers. Some of the projects are interesting. The working location was ok. Free parking was fine.
I observed weekly to daily developer panic attacks, no clear goals, and no positive reinforcement. Morale was almost universally low. Management was wholly responsible. The development team was incredibly dedicated. There was rampant scope creep and at times it felt like a bad joke. The code base is bad. The direction for development is very unclear. I think management created one of the most strangely hostile environments I have ever witnessed.
Advice to Management
I would advise the upper management to look carefully at the liberties it allows its lower management to take. I would also invite management to do its job, manage products and product direction, or give the promotion and title to the people doing that work.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Locus Technologies (Remote, OR) in March 2015.
Applied online. Contacted by recruiter. Prescreening process was very robotic. May have just been going over list of questions to ask each candidate. No real contact/communications. It appears the past history earning was the determining factor regarding next steps for additional interviews.
