Lucas Group White Paper Assesses Legal Diversity Recruitment
Lucas Group Sees Dramatic Rise In Organizations Hiring Interim Legal Talent
Lucas Group began in 1970 in Atlanta, GA as a small, one-man business with the important vision of helping military personnel transition to the civilian workforce after honorably completing their military service.
Today, Lucas Group has evolved into the premier recruiting firm in North America. With 15 locations nationwide, strategic partnerships with recruiting firms in Canada and Europe, and deep experience in a wide range of industries, Lucas Group has earned a reputation for unparalleled customer service and bottom line results.
Lucas Group is transforming the recruiting industry. Our objective is to be a trusted consultant for all of your professional recruiting and placement needs. We will surround you with meaningful attention and create long-term relationships with our clients, candidates, and associates.
We add economic value and waste neither time nor money. We strive to be a sophisticated, reliable, and trusted recruitment consultant.
Lucas Group culture and methodologies drive superior business results. No one else is approaching executive recruitment the way we are. No one else is thinking about it the way we are. No one else is executing it the way we are. We continue to redefine the executive recruiting experience through the use of market data, analytics, and consistent and candid communication.
At Lucas Group, our company culture is directly responsible for our successful performance. At the foundation of the Lucas Group culture are seven principles that serve as our core values. These core values transcend all else and reflect the ethos of our company. That ethos was forged from the principals of honorable military service, but it remains a constant as we have expanded far beyond military transition. As with any virtues, they are simple in concept but demand daily diligence in their adherence.
Our clients and candidates are our primary concern.
Job One; Our True North; The Raison d’être. However you phrase it, our clients and candidates are why we exist. Everything we do is to help our clients find transcendent talent and our candidates realize their career aspirations. We are only successful when they are.
We strive to exceed – not just meet – expectations.
Merely satisfied is not sufficient. Our goal with every interaction is to have people receive what they may not have expected. Doing this requires putting our clients’ and candidates’ interests ahead of our own and truly understanding their ultimate objectives.
Discretion and integrity are required at all times.
Ethics, integrity, and trust are a given at Lucas Group. Without these traits, we cannot succeed. Confidentiality is a foundation for recruiting and hiring, and we respect that in everything we do.
We are professional in every situation.
We are a professional organization engaged in recruiting and placing executive talent. We exude professionalism in every aspect of our organization, from how we answer the phone to our follow-up communications long after the placement.
Performance is critical.
To whom much is given; much will be expected. Performance is our measuring stick, and it reflects the merits of each individual’s contribution to our own organization. But per our first core value, how we treat our clients and candidates, and what we achieve for them, is the true measure of our performance.
We value diversity.
The real value of diversity is the positive impact it has on shaping a dynamic and highly collaborative environment. With so many skilled recruiters from so many varied backgrounds, we are able to provide our clients and candidates with a rich and intelligent consultative approach.
We continue to learn and develop.
We hire and mold the very best in the industry. Our careful cultivation and rigorous training gives our associates a unique, competitive edge in the recruiting marketplace. No one is too old to learn. Everyone is expected to do so.
Around here we say that we do more than find people jobs, we help build careers. That statement rings true not just for the candidates we help, but for ourselves as well. Yes, recruiting is a job. But it is also so much more.
We are a culture of success, where you “do good” and earn well. We want professionals who are collegial, collaborative and committed to doing the right thing. We hire and mold the very best in the industry by providing sophisticated analytics, superior operational support, and highly competitive compensation.
Our managing leaders are invested in and evaluated upon your success. From the industry’s most comprehensive formal on-boarding and training program to insightful elbow coaching and effective role-playing, you will have the opportunity to learn, to grow and to achieve.
If that intrigues you, we want to meet you.
There’s more to life than work. We’ve all heard it, and many of us want to experience it. But not enough companies live by it. Lucas Group does.
We believe that to be productive, effective, and motivated inside the office, our lives outside the office should be respected, protected and encouraged. From informal breakroom lunches to parking deck parties, and from afternoons at the ballpark to team volunteer projects, we nurture and maintain a culture that promotes both successful work and enjoyable play.
A key factor in our success is our culture. We’re the antidote to business as usual in the recruiting industry, and we passionately believe that a job needn’t be drudgery to be fulfilling and financially successful.
We also understand that candor, in the context of executive recruiting consulting, will ultimately yield superior long-term results. Many of us have actually turned down a client contract or discouraged a candidate from accepting a less-than-ideal placement. We did so because we felt compelled to act in their best interests. Sometimes you lose a fee. But, more often, you strengthen a long-term relationship.
That’s who we are. We are collegial, collaborative and committed to doing the right thing for each of our clients and candidates. We are professional, passionate and high performance. And we always have an eye out for new colleagues–people who share our vision of company and personal success.
We are where you need to be.
Spend some time reading the profiles of our associates and you’ll quickly see that the interests and activities our recruiters engage in outside of the office are wonderfully varied.
From gardening and triathlons to motorcycles and mystery novels, Lucas Group believes that in order to perform your best inside the office, you need the time and space to explore the things that bring you joy and satisfaction outside of the office as well.
At its roots, executive recruiting is a service completed on behalf of another. The same internal drive that pushes us to serve our clients and candidates with thoughtfulness and excellence also encourages us to serve our communities with the equal respect and dedication.
Since the early days of Lucas Group, our associates have committed themselves, their time and their talents to organizations and activities that benefit others. From civic organizations and alumni groups to religious communities and disaster-relief organizations, Lucas Group and its associates believe in helping others step up and step out.
As a company, we support these endeavors and encourage our associates to engage with and remain active in the organizations that matter most to them.
We were founded in the belief that our military servicemen and servicewomen have earned and deserve the opportunity to reengage in civilian life in a rewarding and prosperous manner. Today’s Lucas Group family – which includes dozens of U.S. veterans – serves as evidence that our founding belief remains strong. With both our shared history and veteran officemates in mind, Lucas Group is proud to support the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP). WWP’s mission is to honor and empower U.S. soldiers wounded on or after September 11, 2001 by raising awareness for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique and direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured servicemen and servicewomen as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs.
In addition to WWP, Lucas Group recruiters provide volunteer and financial support to other non-profit organizations – both at a corporate level as well as through individual office locations. From Atlanta to Los Angeles, Lucas Group associates are a strong, positive force in our communities.
Whether it’s coaching your child’s soccer team, playing harmonica in a country band or volunteering at your local soup kitchen, you will have the freedom to enjoy your life in all aspects. When you join the team at Lucas Group, you join a collection of interests and a wide variety of talents…supported and encouraged by those around you.
I have been working at Lucas Group full-time (Less than a year)
Strong commission structure
Clear path for career growth
Open communication with leadership
Chance to build your own book of business- you’re an entrepreneur within an established company
no real cons- the company continues to invest in its people and its technology
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lucas Group (Washington, DC) in August 2017.
Waste of my time and MONEY. After the initial phone interview, I was asked to visit their office for a in person interview. It would consist of a meeting with both of the hiring manager each lasting one hour. After the first interview, I knew it was not the role for me. (spend 12 hours a day making phone calls and barely clear $40k a year.... yeah, not for me). After the second interivew, they asked me to meet with the VP... Then told me it would be good if I could meet one of the reps on the team. She also grabbed my resume and treated it like she was interviewing me.... After 4 hours and four separate interviews it was finally over. Even though they told me in an email they validate parking, they changed their story when I was there and said I have to cover it. This cheap company made me pay $21 for a four hour interview!!! It's obvious they burn out their employees and treat them with no respect.. Not worth the energy.
