I worked at Lucky Supermarkets (More than a year)
good environment, great entry level job. flexible schedule if you tell them in advance
store is like family if you work there for enough time and show the effort you put into work.
upper management outside the store can add a lot of stress if they do a walk-in of the store, when the problem is due to distributors or recent sales.
Hours can fluctuate from 40hrs/wk to 20. Some stores are with a union so prepare to see $ taken from your paycheck each week.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Lucky Supermarkets (El Cerrito, CA) in June 2016.
First, there was a 2-3 minute phone interview with a corporate employee. Then, I was scheduled to meet with the store manager of the store I applied to. I was told before I go to the in-store interview, I must complete an assessment test, which had analogies, algebra, and vocabulary.
There was no negotiation, it's a promotion. Key Carriers start off at $14.50 an hour.
