Our employees know Luminex is a purpose-based organization where every day we work to enhance the health, safety and quality of life for all. We know working here means improving patient lives as well as enhancing our own. Embracing our vision is only one reason to work here, there are many more:
We strive to have a work environment that is an innovation engine in which people feel empowered to collaborate, think, act and solve problems in new and different ways. We have several active employee resource groups including Women@Luminex, Luminex Diversity Council and The Extreme Team. These groups of like minded employees meet regularly to discuss topics important to Luminex and to plan events for the growth and enjoyment of our employees.
From our celebration of Pi (3.14) Day with a pie eating contest to annual Halloween costume and decorating contests to holiday parties and picnics to after work happy hour events, Luminex employees know how to have fun!
We Make a Difference
Our employees participate in a number of volunteer activities. We even have an internal Community Involvement team that helps us make determinations on the organizations and causes with which we align.
Not only is community involvement vital for its ability to further engage our employees but it also reinfoirces what we stand for
At Luminex we understand that a commitment to stay fit and having a well-rounded wellness program has a positive impact on employee satisfaction and engagement. We continually strive to incorporate impactful wellness programs that encourage employees to lead healthy lives. Healthy snack options, onsite fitness courses and massage therapy are just a few examples of employee perks. In Madison and in Austin, we recently added onsite showers for our employees to use!
For the past 3 years, our Austin office has participated in the Company Fit Challenge, placing #1 in 2015 and 2016. This challenge has allowed our employees to build strong social relationships and trust. And let’s not forget to mention that we offer employee reimbursement for wellness activities and purchases up to $300 a year.
However, wellness doesn’t stop at fitness and eating healthy. Wellness embodies a broad spectrum of elements, including Social Health, Financial Health as well as Career and Community Health. Each month we host various informative courses to educate our employees on how to maintain happiness and live longer, ranging from professional career development, to understanding financial stabiltiy to managing your stress level.
I have been working at Luminex full-time (More than 10 years)
I’m glad to report that my management DID listen and now the growth of our field is reversing its unhealthy course to a better path. Opportunities were created and more will be coming in the future. It’s great to enact a change to make a difference in the positive direction. Plus our CEO spoke with with our team and really delivered a very thought out and detailed road map about our future and answered an6 questions brought forth. I really good start to the year.
I would state that work/life balance is out of whack however there are positions posted to be filled that would help. I believe once these positions are Totally filled as promised that there will be a new beginning at Luminex.
Advice to Management
Follow through with head count increases.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Luminex (Madison, WI) in May 2016.
It was incredibly friendly and laid back. They asked general questions about my experience and then we talked about random things like pet peeves. I enjoyed the interview. I was sure to send a thank you to each individual who had interviewed me. They made it pretty clear that I was going to be hired
