I have been working at Luther Rice Bible College & Seminary full-time
Professors and staff truly care for the students and are passionate about what they do. Excellent people and true scholars. Vacation time is good and flexible in days off.
Very little vision for the university. President has a problem of micromanaging everyone on campus and determines when employees leave for home, who has what desk and which office. He is a kind man but lacks the ability to stick with his decisions and see them through. The times he initiated a new plan mid-catalogue and then later changed his mind and frustrated all the students and staff are too numerous to count. The school's name has changed at least 5 times in the last 10 years. Very, very doubtful the school will get regional accreditation. President plays favorites to where it is embarrassing and demoralizing to the staff the games he plays. He takes longtime employees in admissions, finance, business office, and other areas for granted but elevates employees who have short tenures with the university due to his fascination with accounting majors. Allows his longtime friends (25+ years) to stay on as professors without PhD's while other profs are let go without theirs. President even has an office next to his where whomever is his current favorite resides. Staff and faculty have to make benefit cuts and not get pay raises but president keeps his retired longtime friends (former administrators) on the payroll as consultants without any responsibilities or even expectation to visit campus regularly.
Advice to Management
Retire the president and eliminate from the payroll his old buddies, get a board who will hold the president accountable. Establish a clear vision which will be pursued and bring in fresh leadership who have excelled elsewhere. Be a true university with more than just religion courses and offer general education. Get regional accreditation.
