I have been working at MAPFRE Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)
20 days vacation plus 2 floating holidays and 11 holidays. Company pays for your continuing education whether it be you BA, MBA, CPCU. We write the majority of PPA and Homeowners Insurance in the state. You will learn everything that is possible about insurance and you have the ability to move up(if you take initiative, help others, take insurance tests to earn designations etc) Many people complain that they can't move up because they don't have a bachelors degree. Well Mapfre offers to pay for it if you want to go back. You have no excuses! Get your AINS, API, AIC, AU, CPCU like me and it will trump the bachelors degree. The company will pay for the study materials and tests. No excuses. The people that work here are great.
Spain. The pay is low compared to other carriers but the location is in Webster Ma This isn't Boston. The cost of living is less in Central Ma. No annual bonus or quarterly bonuses like other carriers. Just a 50 dollar gift card at thanksgiving and profit sharing of 3 percent salary deposited into 401k if we make money.
Advice to Management
Keep managers internal and less from Spain.
