Company Updates

  • Employees participated in a "Mad for Plaid" engagement for the month of November. We snacked on comfort foods such as cornbread, chili, beef stew, pretzels and beer cheese, and chicken wings.

  • One of our co-ops, Whitney, presented a lunch & learn about a project she did during her freshman year of college on the manufacturing process that was simulated through the mass production of paper airplanes. At the end of the presentation, MAVERICK employees got the chance to try out their own plane designs through a little friendly competition - a paper airplane tournament!

We offer a comprehensive onboarding program that starts the moment a new employee is hired. We developed it based on continuous employee feedback to help integrate employees into MAVERICK more quickly. This approach allows new employees to get the most effective onboarding experience. It expands beyond a traditional orientation to provide a richer experience to better engage our employees through their first 90 days.

Our onboarding program is a standardized method of providing training and resources to new employees. It aligns expectations and engages new MAVERICKemployees through learning and development opportunities, just-in-time training and various teaching styles designed to reach everyone.

We use peers as mentors, which develops leadership skills in our staff and provides reliable resources for our new hires — both during and after the first 90 days.

Training programs are built into onboarding and include sessions on policies, benefits, safety and core competencies.

    I have been working at MAVERICK Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I have worked at Maverick for a little over a year. It has been the best job I've had since graduating college. I've lost my previous jobs twice due to poor market conditions, so it was a little difficult not feeling like another number to my employer. Maverick has changed my perspective about my career, for the better, that is! This is a good place to grow, and I recommend all my former colleagues and friends to work here if it's applicable to their career paths.

    Cons

    Some view the move to a more corporate culture as a negative more than a positive. I came in after the acquisition, so I have nothing to compare it to. Work can be a little sparse at times, and the office as well, but the camaraderie we share more than makes up for it! Overall, any cons are easily outweighed by the good!

    Advice to Management

    Do what is possible to maintain the family feel. I have definitely felt valued as a part of the team in my first year!

    I came to MAVERICK interviewing for an entry level position. I had an one interview with the Hiring Manager. I felt very comfortable and the interview seemed more like a conversation about my abilities and experience.
