I worked at MEA Forensic full-time

Professional team with high level expertise in each expert's respective area. Partners in the company are highly respected by employees and clients alike. Over, the company has solid reputation in a saturated industry, and that is only gained by the excellent work they have done for clients over several decades.

Highly ethical practices. Everyone is willing to help and contribute, just ask. Communication and collaboration is encouraged between different offices. Commitment to personal development, training, continued education. Dedication to research establishes MEA Forensic as one of the leaders in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, and failure analysis consulting. Most current employees at MEA have worked there for 10+ years, so they definitely attract and retain the best in business.

Unlike traditional companies where principals and leaders hold a management role, the partners at MEA have the heaviest technical case load while also wearing the management hat. So because of the busy nature and schedule, sometimes things can get a little disorganized and files don't get completed until the 11th hour.

    Senior Human Factors Engineer Interview

Anonymous Employee in Laguna Hills, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took 7+ weeks. I interviewed at MEA Forensic (Laguna Hills, CA) in April 2018.

    1st round: phone interview
2rd round: interview on site (Laguna Hills location)
3rd round: interview in Vancouver (May 2018)
I was offered the position, submitted my counter-offer. They got back to me with a new offer and I accepted it, but I had few questions on their health plan and the training phase.
After 10 days waiting for them to get back to me, they finally answered (on June 1st, 2018) but to my big surprise, they withdrew their offer stating: "I do have to withdraw our offer of employment. After a recent unsuccessful launch in this position, we have grown exceedingly careful and we have decided that we need to go in another direction". Very unprofessional and disappointing, especially I started talking to my previous employer because I was not expecting such behavior from a company that was bragging about their ethics and culture within the company.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked for presentation on site (both Laguna Hills and Vancouver locations)
The questions are general questions mainly focus on motivation, expertise, knowledge, and interpersonal skills.   Answer Question

They made the first offer. I made a counter-offer within a day. All partners got together and sent me a new offer less than a week. I was very satisfied with the offer, so I replied that I am more likely to accept this new offer once I know more about my health premiums. I currently have a PPO plan and their plan is HMO (as most of the companies), so I wanted to have additional information. They gave me a three-year plan outline ready for me and I accept all of it. The training would have required to spent 3-6 months in Vancouver and was ready to relocate for a short period of time. I started talking to my current employer telling them I am not returning because I was offered a position and we were well advanced in the negotiation process. Ten days later, they withdrew their offer without a clear explanation. I was shocked and puzzled because they seem to be very ethical and nice people. I had to re-contact my current employer to tell them that actually I am not leaving. It was a bit awkward but I am happy I did not resign officially. Again very unprofessional behavior. I only submitted this review because very well respected colleagues in HF encouraged me to do so.
