MEDRIO – Why Work For Us?

At Medrio We Value:

Improving the world

"Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity." (Horace Mann). 20,000 people die a day from cancer, and more from other diseases, so come help Medrio do our part to improve health and save lives.

Teamwork

We encourage lots of collaboration between teams. Our office has plenty of open meeting spaces so groups can strategize and solve problems outside of the conference room. We have a weekly all hands meeting where we enjoy beer, wine, and snacks and talk about highlights and lowlights from the week. And our party planning committee is always busy planning the next event or offsite (think baseball games, happy hour, scavenger hunts, and more!).

Customers

We have a flywheel in our office to concretely symbolize the importance of maintaining momentum by providing great value to our existing customers.

Success

Unlike some startups, we are profitable, which means we're never reliant on that next round of VC funding to make our decisions.

Health

Medrio is a software company but also a health company. To reflect this, we have a wellness program that pays for gym memberships or massages, and we provide healthy snacks at the office.

Hard Work

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls, and looks like work." (Thomas Edison). Medrio is a place where hard work and results are admired and rewarded.

I have been working at MEDRIO full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I've had a great experience working at Medrio. I like the people, the products, and the opportunity. The foundation and vision is enforced by the founder and CEO, Mike Novotny, who came from industry and is actually interested in building a great company, as opposed to letting go of control or pursuing the next exit strategy. Medrio works in a regulated industry but keeps things light and fun in our marketing. People who work hard are rewarded and the growth is there for the individual and company.

    Cons

I don't have anything bad to say about my experience. I believe that if someone doesn't have a good experience working at Medrio, they aren't motivated by their work, which may reflect on some poor hiring decisions.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at MEDRIO (San Francisco, CA) in August 2016.

    Interview

Seemed to quick but they are not genuine in their feedback. I was told that the ceo wanted to skip the SKYPE interview and meet me in person. If he liked me he would approve an offer. I went through a significant personal expense to travel 8 hours for the meeting. It went very well. 3 days later I was told that he wanted to interview a few more people. 3 weeks later they told that they decided to promote from within. I wouldn't have made the trip if I wasn't at an offer pending. I asked what the CEO didnt like and was only repeated back that they decided to promote from within. No offer to compensate for expenses or anything.
