I worked at MacArthur Foundation as an intern (Less than a year)
The intern program gave an overview of the Foundation as a whole I felt valued and integrated into the work of my program area Lots of great opportunities to network within the Foundation and at outside events
Outside of administrative staff, they seem to hire almost exclusively people with advanced degrees, which makes it improbable to move from undergraduate intern to new hire - if that is what you are looking for in an internship.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at MacArthur Foundation (Chicago, IL).
Strange and chaotic. I had at least three phone interviews with multiple people. It got very far along in the process and then just...nothing.
