Management is committed to providing (sometimes overeagerly) a congenial atmosphere and a good working atmosphere.
Management moves people like chess pieces without regard to career aspirations - if you're good at something, they assume you must love it. They need to let HR do what they're good at, and spend less time on organizing parties.
Advice to Management
It's a critical time for the company - the only way to play is to be the best manufacturer. You need, desperately, to work on some plans that extend out longer than the next 6 months.

distracted. interviewer gave the impression that he wasn't listening to a word I said even when I was responding to a direct question. interviewer also glossed over questions I had about the position by giving pat responses . for example: well we'll cover that when you start. Several red flags I should have heeded
