I worked at Magyar Telekom full-time (More than 3 years)
good benefit system (e.g. company phone and subscription, free internet-TV subscription at home), lots of company events, team-buildings which are financed by the company, discounted use of corporate guest houses, home office opportunities
there is no career path except you want to work here for your whole life (promotions are rare)
not a youthful company and culture
few opportunities to develop yourself
not a challenging environment, especially for juniors, because there are too many seniors who are working here for ages and are clinging to their positions
home office is not that flexible (your home office days should be equally divided between Monday-Friday and Tuesday-Thursday)
work-life balance is ok on an average day but terrible during the planning period, plus there is usually no one who can substitute your work if you go on a vacation
shared desk system in the future headquarter
Advice to Management
management should pay more attention to keep the juniors, shared desk system is not a good idea to work efficiently
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Magyar Telekom in September 2009.
I was referred by an employee of the company to the CEO who was looking for a person for a specific position. I was called by the secretery of the CEO. Interview was set up. Met with him about twice. Then I had to go in meet with the marketing people and based on my meeting I had to give a proposal on how I would do the job.
