Mission: To democratize cutting edge marketing technology for small business

Company Updates

  • Our founders have never hesitated to zag whenever everyone else zigs. This Forbes article reveals how sticking to values of humility, creativity and independence led to unlikely success outside of Silicon Valley.

The New Atlanta Billionaires Behind An Unlikely Tech Unicorn

wo years ago, Ben Chestnut found a crumpled piece of paper in the trunk of his Mercedes GL63 SUV, alongside the muddy shoes and helmets he uses while mountain biking in the hills of northern Georgia. Forgotten there for a year, the paper assessed how much a top private equity firm in New York thought his company was worth: $2 billion.

  • So excited about our new look at Mailchimp (note the lowercase "c").

    See Mailchimp's weird new branding

As companies grow up, their branding usually does, too. That often means that the initial quirkiness of a startup logo fades into the slick, streamlined branding you see everywhere today-like that same sans serif font that has become the basis for Google, Airbnb, and Pinterest's wordmarks.

Being Yourself Makes All The Difference

Mailchimp is home to engineers and artists, misfits and number crunchers. We believe in doing things differently and empowering the underdog. We're headquartered in Atlanta, and we invest in the people and projects that make our community better, weirder, and more human.

Never Stop Learning

Whether we’re attending conferences, doing internal apprenticeships, completing unconscious bias training, or enjoying our weekly Coffee Hour series, we’re always stretching our brains in new ways. We’re committed to fostering diversity and inclusion, and we’re taking actions to do so. And Mailchimp University helps us all stay weird and grow strong.

Better. Weirder. More Human.

Community matters to Mailchimp. Since 2013, we’ve made it a priority to invest in people and projects that help make Atlanta great. It’s not just about “doing good” or “giving back.” It’s about adding value to our hometown mindfully and strategically.

As Mailchimp employees, we’ve all had a hand in this—even when we weren’t aware of it. Now it’s time to report on our investments.

What happens when you invest $3 million over 3 years into 90 different organizations working to add value to Atlanta? It looks a little something like this.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Mailchimp.

    Interview

Phone screen with recruiter, phone call (~40 minutes) with a manager of the Site Reliability department, google hangout (~1 hour) with four members of the SRE team. In the last round, each team member had a list of questions they were going through. No coding challenge or looking at code I'd written.
