Purdue Global University (formerly Kaplan University) is an accredited institution of higher learning that provides innovative undergraduate, graduate and continuing professional education. ManTech has partnered with Purdue University Global to develop a robust offer that eliminates up-front fees, minimizes out-of-pocket expenses and facilitates ManTech employees earning technical certifications certificates and degrees.
Employees can work to earn Purdue Global Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in cybersecurity, information technology or cloud computing ― all online with 100 percent of the tuition covered.
Early in 2017, ManTech had a critical shortage of cybersecurity professionals with the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
To close this gap, ManTech partnered with Purdue Global, who constructed a custom bundle of college courses.
Traditional vendor-supplied boot camps had low passing rates on the certification exam (less than 50%); a contributing factor was likely the rapid delivery of dense content. Kaplan had a more academic approach of spreading the content over three 10-week courses, strong instructor support and interaction, and practice labs that reinforce material and aid retention.
The courses are taught online, in a format conducive for working adults. To date, we have over 80 employees taking advantage of this unique opportunity.
ManTech’s Cloud Training Initiative incorporates the capabilities of the primary cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure and Google, and leverages the benefits of a Bachelor of Science in cloud computing and solutions offered by Purdue University Global.
This initiative meets the growing mission and customer demand for cloud computing skills as cloud technologies are transforming IT jobs. Purdue Global's programs align with ManTech’s need to create a cadre of cloud professionals – as we are doing in the cyber domain – to meet the mission needs of our federal customers undergoing cloud-centric transformation and modernization.
Cloud-based knowledge is a must-have to meet the growing mission and customer demand. Beyond the mission, this focus is an investment in our employees and their futures.

Create more opportunities for corporate to meet with distant employees in person.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at ManTech (Alexandria, VA) in August 2014.
I initially had a photo me interview with the hiring official. Then I was brought in for an in person interview with the senior hiring official and program manager. The setting was relaxed and personal.
