    Pros

MPI develops young leaders by helping connect communities through their program director roles, but also builds up leaders within its staff and board. Because MPI is a small organization, its impacts are able to be seen by all members of the organization, and all of those involved take to heart the mission at hand. With its history, MPI has operated in a relatively low risk environment, but has been able to continue to grow despite the shrinking of operations within Nicaragua. It continues to learn from its past, and build upon its strong network of previous staff and volunteers across campuses, countries and continents. The past two years has seen the MPI board grow with technical expertise, and it will be all the better for the new diversity of board perspectives. Being a member of the board at MPI is not a hands-off role. In addition to advising the organization, members are expected to contribute to fundraising and recruitment efforts of Manna.

    Cons

The board fundraising commitment does limit the diversity of perspectives to those who feel they can meet the board fundraising commitment.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing forward, you do great work and have strong impacts where we work!

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Manna Project International.

    Interview

Two parts all via skype, one with a the assistant country director, one with a program director onsite. Very casual, essentially looking for any serious red flags with your intentions.
