I worked at Marathon Capital as an intern

    Pros

Very entrepreneurial, small-team environment as an independent investment bank; internship program becomes what you make of it.
Great technical training; busy analysts/associates make time to help you.

    Cons

For interns with no prior banking experience, unfamiliarity with the industry culture / technical knowledge can be misinterpreted as lack of caring.

    Advice to Management

Would have liked more opportunity to contribute to live deals instead of comps/general research.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Marathon Capital (New York, NY) in August 2018.

    Interview

    Phone interview, called late.
Very detached and not curious, asks the most generic questions (why banking and this sector and us in one question), asks a very specific technical question about tax and scoffs when the answer is slightly off
