I worked at Marine Credit Union full-time

I worked at MCU for nearly four years and overall I had a great experience there. Lots of room for advancement, if you perform. You learn a great deal about financing, structuring loans and how to get people out of debt. Great ability to help serve the under served and give people loans that nobody else will help that deserve a chance. I personally had great managers and mentors throughout my time at MCU.

Lots of recent changes that aren't all good. Delinquency on the rise which I feel is partially due to high sales goals/expectations both on the lenders and management.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people when they have concerns and don't be afraid to have a meeting of the minds to really talk through problems. Upper management can also get out to some of the more remote branches occasionally, they want that presence to know they matter. And finally don't be afraid to throw an Actual offer out there to an employee that has an offer to go somewhere else. You may be surprised by the results instead of just letting them walk away.
