I have been working at Marketo full-time (More than a year)
-Software is GREAT - something that we can actually believe in and sell - use it everyday -Young culture -Great brand to have on your resume -Deals are larger, so you get better exposure to complex sales cycles
-Executives are very stubborn and constantly ignores employee wants/ needs (SF office!!) -Turnover slightly on the higher side due to them not making things work / being competitve -Some bad seeds in the SDR / AE bunch - trouble getting top talent because located outside of SF
Advice to Management
Simple: 1) open an office in SF 2) make culture welcoming Top talent won't leave if you have these 2 things in place.
There is first a phone interview which is fine. But, their in person interview is insulting. I get that they want to get to know you in the most efficient way possible but I don't think spring 45 minutes of logic puzzles on a person is a good idea. Even the GRE's, SAT's GMAT and other standardized tests give you paper to work out the problems with. During the process the interviewer also had a smarter than thou tone in his voice the entire time. It was as if the interview process was made to humiliate you. I know everyone is desperate for a job but the way employers are treating interviewees these days is really bad.
