Mission: We do great work so we can do good things.
Diversity in advertising has never been more front and center than now, and it will only grow in importance. Marketsmith’s Senior Vice President, Digital Strategist, Luis Hernandez, will be speaking on this subject as a panel member at the Exchanging Perspectives: A Conversation on Diversity in Advertising Today forum by The Exchange Lab. The event will be held on Thursday, October 4th from 6-9PM at SubCulture, located at 45 Bleecker Street, NYC. The event is free, the information will be valuable. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQrBk
The Marketsmith team is thrilled to announce that our very own Larry Durst, SVP, Executive Creative Director, has been elected into the NJ Advertising Club Hall of Fame, class of 2018. It’s a well-deserved recognition for a wonderful career—a career that shows no signs of slowing down (thankfully for us). Happy that others will now know what we have always known—Larry is not only a great talent, but one of the nicest people you will ever work with. We also send our congratulations to the other four inductees as well. Well done!!!!
CEO and Founder
Our Founder and CEO is truly one of kind. She built Marketsmith, Inc. to be one of the largest women-owned and operated independent media and marketing agencies in the country. She is considered one of the strongest active CEO’s in media today—especially in omni-channel media strategy that drives retail success.
Monica has numerous client successes in her tenure as leader of Marketsmith. She was able to transform Tumi from a single-product customer focus to a powerhouse multi-category specialty retailer. She took a product called Shark Steam mop from a troubled retailer to a company with $1.6 billion in sales from dozens of products. Monica also conceived of, developed and built iPredictus, a data visualizing software that aggregates media and customer data, provides actionable insights and predicts sales results with 93% accuracy.
That is only to name a few.
Aside from her ability to build, sustain and evolve brands, she leads with charity in her heart, and rigor and vision every day. Monica is driven, dedicated to her clients, her causes and her team. She is relentlessly in the trenches looking for ways to improve the model, the economy and the future.
Monica also believes giving back should be a daily practice, that diversity everywhere should be the norm and that every child deserves the best education. Her greatest ability lies in her deep desire to compete and win, bur her most noble trait is that she believes that winning can be for all. She inspires her team daily to find their best inner-selves, to take risks and to always be kind.
Today, she resides in Chester with her wife Amy of 20+ years and their six adopted children. Lastly, where she loves to be more than anywhere is in front of a crowd speaking on how we can better our world or in front of her team innovating for the future.

Callan noted that MSI’s media operations department intersects with finance, media, creative and analytics to ensure that all media translates from airings and impressions to usable data for the analytics team, as well as billings for the finance team.
According to MSI, the company’s reputation and business is built on its patented analytics software and human ingenuity, giving the agency and its clients the data and analytics to inform every decision from strategy to media to creative.
“David works tirelessly and consistently to ensure our media data is flawless,” said Callan.

How You Can Help
We’re proud of the good work our employees do, but the fact is the groups on this page can use far more help than we alone can give. We encourage you to click on the links below, and join us in making our communities better places to live for everyone.
Conceived by Monica and Amy Smith, and executed yearly entirely by Marketsmith team members, “Bring Dinner Home” serves hundreds of deserving families in Newark, NJ a complete holiday dinner, provides a night of family entertainment and gives every family a grocery store gift card to buy food for the household.
Bring Dinner Home’s mission is to develop a connection with all businesses in New Jersey and build a model to end child hunger and provide a system of support, education and security.
The Cedar Hill Community Development Corporation offers a high-quality Community After School Program that provides a safe, nurturing and enriching environment for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. A significant number of the students are from families at or below the poverty level.
One More Smith was founded by Amy Allan Smith and Monica C. Smith as a “forever home” to feral animals and animals rescued from kill shelters. It is One More Smith’s belief that animals should never be euthanized for lack of space or medical issues. We urge everyone to support One More Smith in providing care for these deserving animals.
Over 400 children in Morris and Sussex Counties will not sleep in their own beds tonight. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits and trains volunteers to act as mentors to children in crisis and as their advocates through the complicated legal system.
Formed as a response to the devastating earthquake in Nepal of 2015, The Asha Project is a New Jersey-based organization with a global impact, constructing homes, schools, and community centers and providing microloans in order to build a promising future for the world’s poorest people.
We are extremely proud to support Jersey Battered Women’s Service and their work in preventing domestic violence and abuse, now celebrating 40 years of service. Our latest effort is the Yellow Card Challenge, bringing the No2DatingAbuse Campaign to schools across the state.

I have been working at Marketsmith full-time (More than 3 years)
Good, smart people that challenge one another to be better versions of themselves. An intense intellectual curiosity permeates the company that sparks inspiring, sometimes challenging questions and invigorating debate. A great mix of large national and regional clients as well as smaller ones offers wonderful opprtunity for exciting work and personal growth. The technology that is created here is nothing short of breathtaking. The company is dedicated to its clients and their outcomes, and is just as dedicated to its employees their personal outcomes. It's a place where people have one another's back--not stab one another in the back. It's not for everyone, and that's what makes it so refreshing and rewarding. CEO demands a lot from her people, but also gives a lot back, cares, and is utterly transparent (in the good way).
The location is lovely, but a little sleepy.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Marketsmith (Parsippany, NJ) in October 2014.
Met with the team first and then the President followed by the owner of the company. The initial interview was more of a follow-up on skill set and experience. The follow-up meeting was more of the final before the offer.
