I have been working at Marks Paneth full-time (More than 5 years)
Marks Paneth is a great place to start your career. It is open door policy here so you can really speak to your managers and partners about your interests and they will put you on work that you find engaging. The firm is growing rapidly which is beneficial to current staff in terms of finding opportunities to work closer to home in outer offices and also to try out new clients/industries. The office has a great family feel - it is very easy to meet people and make connections. Many staff have been at the firm for a long time. Having been with the firm for many years, I have seen great efforts to continue to increase morale and retain employees. Great flexibility in terms of reduced work schedules, coming in early/leaving early, etc.
Small 401k match, benefits could improve.
I applied online. I interviewed at Marks Paneth.
So I applied for the job on indeed and I received an email from an HR coordinator maybe 5 minutes after to give her a call so I did. About 2 days later I received an email from another HR coordinator for a call so I called her pretty much immediately. We spoke about the basics, just my resume and stuff. She then said the next steps would be someone from the marketing side of things reaching out to me to come into the office for an interview within a week or so. But instead, as soon as we hung up, that same HR coordinator emailed me asking if I would be available to come in the next day for an interview. I was available so I said absolutely and said I could come in at anytime. She didn't respond to my email for about 4 hours and it started getting late in the day so I emailed again asking what time she wanted me to come in. She responded about an hour later saying she'd let me know tomorrow because the woman I'd be interviewing with never got back to her. The next day comes and I just sit around waiting for an email that never came. I eventually email her asking about the interview and she answers about 2 hours later saying that the woman who is supposed to be interviewing me never got back to her and if anything we'd schedule something for after the weekend since it was Friday. I was kind of bothered by this because I had done absolutely nothing with my day since I thought I'd be emailed saying to come in but whatever. Now it's Monday and once again I'm sitting around waiting for an email that would never come. FINALLY, at 5pm, I get an email saying that they won't be moving forward with me. I'm sorry but this whole thing was so unprofessional it's absurd. Why would she have emailed me in the first place to come in if no one had told her to? I don't understand how you can make someone sit around waiting for an email about coming in that same day and then just take everything back. I am livid. So unprofessional.
