I have been working at Martin Marietta Materials full-time (More than a year)
Good benefits, good pay and lots of overtime. Medical, Dental, short/long term disability. They have a 401k and a pension. Safety is a BIG DEAL. Managers support and expect safe work. Employees look out for each other on safety. Mixer Trucks have Automatic Trans and gadgets to help the drivers - back up cameras, DriveCam, and automatic slump system. Good safety training and good safety equipment. Management listens to us. Good teamwork. Lots of locations and jobs are posted for promotions.
Saturday work is common. Hours vary a lot depending on when the jobs pour. Rain can shut down concrete pour jobs, but we have a 40 hour a$$ured pay that helps. No paid sick days if you are sick less than a week.
Advice to Management
Keep buying new trucks. Keep promoting from within. Give sick days to hourly employees. Add an employee stock purchase plan.
I applied online. I interviewed at Martin Marietta Materials.
The application is overly redundant and the GUI does not work properly. Basically due to a bad link I could not submit an application. This link has been bad for a while.
