Great staff working on some incredible programs for the local community. They really strive to make continuing education accessible to working parents, by babysitting their children for example, to really encourage participation.

They don't have a very structured program for student interns so it was challenging to get placed in a role that I wanted to have played, as there were not a lot of options in how we could be involved.

    Advice to Management

Develop a more structured intern/volunteer program in multiple departments if possible so there are not only more opportunities for said volunteers, but it would perhaps attract more people to get involved.

I applied in-person. The process took 6+ weeks. I interviewed at Marys Center For Maternal and Child Care (Washington, DC) in February 2014.

The interview process was very informal as I was already working for Marys Center in a different department. A lot was withheld from hiring manager and I was offered a different position at the end of interview. The interview was one on one with a lot of open ended questions and the second interview was with the department staff and that one was more scenario based.
